Will bring one of the films during Holi, say makers of Sooryavanshi and 83
With the new year, come new plans. As we turned the calendar to 2021, the makers of Sooryavanshi and 83 have begun charting the way forward for the two Bollywood biggies, which have been waiting in the wings for a theatrical outing for the past 10 months. The makers are planning to release one of the event movies over the Holi weekend.
83 were to originally release in 2020 summer
Shibasish Sarkar, chief executive officer, Reliance Entertainment group, which has bankrolled the films, says, "The situation in the country is improving as is the economy, so the mood is largely positive. A section of people headed to theatres to watch Tenet and Wonder Woman 1984. That was an encouraging sign. So, now, we are looking at bringing one of the films in the third week of March, during Holi. We have yet to decide on the film though." He is hopeful that with the vaccine roll-out around the corner, the situation will further improve. "These are event films that would have made Rs 300 crore under norm..

Abhishek Banerjee on Bhediya: Amar bhai always saw the actor in me
From his spine-chilling act as Hathoda Tyagi in Paatal Lok to his moving performance in Unpaused, Abhishek Banerjee had a brilliant run in 2020. Now, the casting director-turned-actor is set to reunite with Bala (2019) director Amar Kaushik for his horror satire, tentatively titled Bhediya. The project, fronted by Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon, is expected to go on floors next month.
Amar Kaushik
"I knew Amar bhai when he was an associate director, and I, a casting associate. We met on the sets of No One Killed Jessica [2011]," recounts Banerjee, thrilled to team up with the filmmaker for the third time. It was, after all, in Kaushik's Stree (2018) that Banerjee caught everyone's attention with "Vicky, please" — a dialogue that spawned numerous memes and jokes. "He always saw the actor in me. In fact, he would always ask me, 'Tu yeh role kyun nahin kar leta?' I used to tell him that I will act when the time is right. Then, he offered me a scene in Go Goa Gone [2013], promising me ..
Bigg Boss 14 Weekend Ka Vaar: Salman Khan loses his cool; calls out Jasmin Bhasin and Nikki Tamboli
With the Weekend Ka Vaar episodes, the contestants are always on the edge to get feedback from host Salman Khan. Salman ensures that the housemates realise just how far they have gone and correct their attitude with his useful advice.
This time, it is Jasmin Bhasin and Nikki Tamboli who are at the receiving end of Salman Khan's comments. In the previous episode, Jasmin Bhasin insulted Rakhi Sawant and spoke rudely about her looks. Jasmin, very casually commented on Rakhi's looks, and the two got into a heated argument.
While Jasmin and Rakhi have always had a prickly relationship, this time it seems like Jasmin went a bit too far. Her ally in this whole effort was Nikki Tamboli. Rakhi and Nikki, also, have not shared the best relationship so far in the show. When they recently had an argument, Nikki commented about Rakhi's hygiene and was rather crude in her observations.
When Salman Khan took the stage, he made sure that he set things right. Salman called out Jasmin Bhasin for her ..
Vidya Malavade: Did not abandon my dream to act

There are more meaningful opportunities for actors," says the actor who branched into digital entertainment with Vivek Oberoi's The Family.
The boom in the OTT space has given Malavade a new lease of life as an actor. As she puts it, "I may have been absent from the scene, but I did not abandon my dream—acting. I honed my craft; attended workshops, while yoga instilled patience. It made me see the light at the end of every rejection and disappointment."

Manoj Muntashir on making Lankesh larger than life in Adipurush
Adapting the Indian epic, Ramayana, for the big screen is no mean feat. Aware of the responsibility that rests on their shoulders, Prabhas, Saif Ali Khan and Kriti Sanon have begun workshops before Adipurush rolls on January 19 at a Mumbai studio. If Prabhas will essay the role of Lord Ram, he will find a worthy opponent in Khan's Lankesh in director Om Raut's magnum opus.
Considering tales of Ravana's might and supernatural powers precede him, Khan's character has been developed as intimidating and fearsome. "In Adipurush, Lankesh — another name for Ravana — will be seen as a towering personality. Saif's height will be enhanced to eight or nine feet, using special effects, to depict his larger-than-life persona. The actor will sport a thick moustache, long hair and a muscular build," says a source. His physical prowess aside, Ravana was known to be a scholar, sharp statesman and a devout follower of Lord Shiva.

Taapsee Pannu's Rashmi Rocket's final schedule in Gujarat next week
The last two months have been taxing for Taapsee Pannu as she shot for Rashmi Rocket in Pune and Ranchi. With the lion's share of filming done, the unit of the sports drama has now set its sights on the final schedule in Gujarat. According to the original plan, director Akarsh Khurana was to kick off the project with a stint in Rann of Kutch in April 2020, but the pandemic played spoilsport.
"When the unit decided to begin filming in November, heading to Gujarat was out of the question as they had not procured the permission required to shoot in Rann of Kutch. So, Akarsh and the team reworked the schedules, and commenced the shoot in Pune. With the permission having finally come through, the team will head to the location next week for the 14-day schedule," reveals a source.
